In mid March "Samiran Baruah Ahi Ase" (সমীৰণ বৰুৱা আহি আছে)

Mridul Bhuyan in a special role in the film
After the award-winning debut film "Dhunia Tirutabur", director Prodyut Kumar Deka gets experimental with his second movie "Samiran Barua Ahi Ase" (সমীৰণ বৰুৱা আহি আছে). This is the film adaptation of eminent journalist Manoj Kumar Goswami's classic short story of the same name. The film's story centres around several important incidents that happened during the last two decades in the state since 1990. The movie moves forward with four different yet interlinked stories. The film offers it's own fascinations and ironies that flow from its characters' mixed loyalties and particular line of thinking with regard to Samiran, who is the leader of a banned militant outfit. In the eyes of many, he is a heroic figure and a distinctly human one at that despite all the frailties.

The film features several eminent and popular artistes of Assam though there are no heroes or heroines in the conventional terms. Tapan Das has acted on the lead role. Other actors include Brajen Bora, Mrinal Das, Baharul Islam, Sanjib Hazarika, Madhusmita Borkotoky, Nilakshi Devi, Krishna Das etc. In some special roles there will be guest appearance of Ratan Laskar, Mridul Bhuyan, Nishita Goswami, Bidya Rao and Ankur Kumar Bisaya. Noted journalist Atanu Bhuyan has composed two songs for the film. Well-known musician Kishore Giri is providinging the background score of the film. The film is cinematograhed and edited by two debutant Ratul Barman and Sanjiv Talukdar respectively.

The trailer of the film is released recently and it looks quite promissing and fresh for an Assamese film. The film is now slated for release in second week of March.
